Why do we require a verification?

SCP Books proudly supports the PCI Data Security Standards, a worldwide security standard assembled by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council to protect and secure sensitive customer financial data. Although not currently required, SCP has elected to implement an additional step in your registration and log in procedure by requiring customers to enter a dynamic verification word each time you log in.

What does this do?

It eliminates the possibility of illicit computer programs hacking into your account.

What is Captcha?

Captcha is a type of challenge-response test used to ensure that the response is not generated by a computer. The process involves asking a user to complete a simple test by entering a dynamically generated string of alpha-numeric characters into the box. Because computers are unable to read or solve the CAPTCHA, any user entering a correct solution is presumed to be human. It is important to note that any human that has access to your username and password can still access your account.

No matter where you shop on the internet, please make sure you protect your sensitive user names and passwords.

SCP cares about your security.
